Summer Studies at UB

Welcome to the beginning of Summer 09 semester. This will be my first Summer semester at UB and I am already liking my teachers and classes. I know that this year will be tough handling two Summer classes and also working full-time. But I know that my determination and motivation will help to push me through another semester. Being a part of the Corporate Communication major has inspired me to always do my best and has pushed me to achieve my goals in life and in my education. I know that there are many people who feel the same way I do. If you are reading this and you have a comment to make please let us know your experience and your feelings on your declared major and how it has affected you.

I know that getting back into the flow of classes and to start re-opening those semester books can be a challenge. Some of us get really excited, become overwhelmed or stressed. Many people look at Summer as a chance to wind down, relax, and go on vacation. Summer at UB can be exciting and a way to meet new classmates online or on-campus. Be sure to check out all the events and become involved. This can be another good way to wind down, relax, and maybe pretend you are on vacation, lol.

If you're bored, check out the movie a fellow UB student just released - StandardsOfEthicalConduct.com - the whole movie will be online this Fall...just in time to goof off while you're supposed to be working.

Laura, I'm impressed. Working full-time while taking just one summer class is difficult enough. But you're taking two plus blogging! You certainly like a challenge!

The best thing about the UB community is the level of support we get from each other. Because many of us are juggling family, work, and school, we all understand the stress involved.

I also agree that being involved is important to being a successful student. It's something I've been slow in doing, and it's why I decided go try my hand at this blogging thing!

I look forward to reading your blogs.

Hi Carol, thanks for your post. It is tough but I love to write and talk about all sorts of topics. Of course I have my favorites. This will allow me to become a better writer and I cant wait to do my next blog.

I look forward to reading your blogs too. Good luck and I am sure we will be in touch again soon.
