christmas is here, i think?

Well the Christmas holiday is near and its obvious with all the shopping, angry people, and pretty decorations everywhere. I am one of those last minute people who is shopping around December 23rd trying to get my entire family the gifts they all want, this is including my husbands family too. I know its nuts, why would I do that? The thing is believe it or not I hate shopping for gifts, and I am just too busy to get my huge family everything and might I add I really do not have the money. I have one brother and four sisters and every year I have suggested doing the whole names in the hat thing and for some reason I can never get any of them on board. Usually they say well I like to get each of you something it means a lot. Well to be honest my family just keeps growing, my sister just gave birth to her second child, and I have a niece who is 2 years old. So not only do I have to shop for Mom, Dad, sisters, brother, grandma, nieces, and nephew but my husbands family too. I must sound like the Grinch but I really would not care if I got nothing for the holidays. All I truly care about is spending it with my family. What do you do in a situation like this?

So does anyone have any nifty cheap gift ideas for me?

Online gift certificates! I can't see why anyone would shop in the real world if they didn't have to; and if what they want is something specific and way too expensive, see if you can go in together with a couple of other relatives to buy it together.

I'm so lucky that the only family I have on this side of the Atlantic is my parents, and by now they have all the Stuff they want, so I can get away with handmade presents like knitted scarves or painted cards or similar.

You shop for your husband's family? Yo so nice. I get stuck with sending them christmas cards, I'm not buying them gifts. He barely buy his mother anything and he never buy his father anything. My husband is weird.

I'm doing most of my shopping online if I can help it.
