Good or bad news! I will leave that up to you all to determine whether or not the new beta software from Adobe - Flash Catalyst is a beneficial tool. In the same theme about making learning interactive, I think this software will make designers lives easier.
So what is Flash Catalyst and how is it easier to build interactivity? Flash Catalyst is software that allows you to take your artwork from Photoshop or Illustrator and build applications without knowing any type of code. For the designers and UB community that struggles with programming code, this software will build the bridge for creating cool interactive applications (demo).
Now if you are a developer, you are probably thinking how is this software going to help me and is Flash Catalyst going to kill my livelihood? In my opinion, the answer would be no. This software was created to allow the designer to create and focus on the user interface while the developer’s time is spent working on the back-end of how the data is placed and routed. Once the user interface is created in Flash Catalyst, the developer will take the FXP file and loaded it in Flash Builder (formerly know as Flex).
So if you thinking creating a portfolio, making an interactive website or building an employee directory – check out Flash Catalyst. I think you will find it is a catalyst to flash.

Thanks for the info, Julie. Being technologically inept, I don't understand any of it. But I'll definitely pass it onto to someone who may.
Interesting stuff, Julie! Thanks for sharing.
