Sustaining UB

Last month, the University of Baltimore announced the MBA program would add a new specialization in sustainability management. This is important as the world continues to look for methods for dealing with what we in the MPA side of the house call "externalities" of business:
  • Environmental damage,
  • Social consequences, and
  • Harm to unrelated parties.
The world is looking to make business more sustainable along the spectrum from halting greenhouse gas emissions to favoring locally produced agriculture. UB's new program will help train emerging business leaders in these practices, and hopefully give Maryland a prominent place in sustainability. For more information, please see the UB/Towson MBA website.

Thanks for posting about this, James! Let's hope the new sustainability specialization helps prepare our M.B.A. students to deal with tomorrow's sustainability issues as they relate to business practices. A brief article on the sustainability specialization also appears in the "Growing Green" feature in the latest issue of the UB Alumni Magazine.
