Cheap Gas!?!?!

Hi Readers,

Today is a lot of firsts for me and I am excited about the great opportunities ahead of me. I encourage you all really embrace this journey that you will be embarking on with me throughout the summer.

Without wasting any time I figured it would be best if I gave you an insight to my life, my background, and some of my experiences - so as you read from me every Monday, I will include one or two interesting or fun things about me with every post.

Today is my first day on my new job - I am the new Graduate Assistant in the Student Affairs office and will be working on the development of UB's Housing Program alongside Dean Kathy Anderson. I am more than excited about this opportunity, and look forward to great things coming to the UB Community. So from time to time, I may blog about something to do with the progress being made with UB Housing.

So I was reading the business news over the weekend, and decided to share with you some of my findings. As yo uall may know, at this time of the year gas prices starts 'growing' (maybe it has something to do with the great hot weather), and as projected - regardless of the financial crisis, the recession (or depression) and no jobs, prices are expected to rise this summer. I decided to share a tip on filling up your tank at a more affordable price - Gas Price Shopping!

You can’t actually buy gas online, but Web resources can help you find the cheapest fill-up in town. Among them, GasPriceWatch.com and GasWatch.info help people track pump prices. But the most comprehensive of the bunch is GasBuddy.com, which includes a network of 174 local sites, complete with maps and message boards that tally gas price by ZIP code. I've personally been a regualr at GasBuddy and it gets the job done!

But for those of you who have limited funds a.k.a. BOB's (Ballers On a Budget) - I suggest you put the debit cards away when you get to the pump because both you and I know that if you've got about $100.00 in the bank, and your cell phone bill ($65) is due in 3 days, and you're trying to fill your truck up... chances are you don't know exactly how much it will cost you, so you'd rather just pay for a specific amount of gas and save yourself and bank overdraft charges!

Well that's all for now folks, and hope you have a great week!

Hey Chris! Thanks for the tips on cheaper gas. I have a long commute to school and I could definitely use a discount on fuel. Can I fit into the BOBs category? Or is that only a guy thing? :)
Also, congrats on landing a job working with Prof. Anderson. I had her last semester and she was fantastic!
