With midterms still carrying over in the past week and a midterm essay due today. I'm happy to say my load of midterms are finally OVER!! its so exciting to feel like I can breath again. the weight on my chest feels like it was finally lifted. Well i thought i would share some pictures of my midterm project for my 3d modeling course. I'm going to include a couple of angles of the room.
In this rendered picture of our model you can see a filing cabinet with notes written on them, when you get closer to the notes you can see our team members names and little memos written out to each one of us.
The objective of the assignment was to model a room with a some form of narration without actually boldly stating what the story is. The papers are crinkled tax forms, the idea that we were trying to get across by having the tax forms wrinkled, is that the forms were crinkled out of frustration.

I'm not sure if the task was met but the story that we were going for, was a man completing his tax forms. We thought it was appropriate with April 14th creeping right around the corner. We know that soon enough everyones home offices will look something like this.
Well on another note: last semester the students of our program, Simulation and Digital Entertainment program at Shady Grove. Started a club called DEMO, where initially was solely intended for the members to build our portfolios by making games. We then decided that it would also be a good idea to have events to have the other programs to get to know our school and our program. So over the last 2 semesters we've had 3-4 gaming events, where we brought in different gaming consoles and played. Later we collaborated with several student organizations and the campus to raise money for the victims in Hiati.
Well this Thursday DEMO is having their first gaming tournament @ 3 at the Universities at Shady Grove. So if anyone is in the Montgomery County area, they should drop by.
Also in the near future we'll be raising money for the Steve Purcell Scholarship Fund. The scholarship fund is in honor of Steve Purcell our academic advisor that passed away last semester. So when we have that event, I'll let you guys know more details about that, and hopefully I'll see all of you there supporting the cause. :-)

Very cool project! And it is great that you could share the pictures. I imagine that adding the "crinkles" to the paper was time consuming, but it does add to the narrative.
