School comes second, make more time for you!

I had fun three days in a row, Sat-Mon, usually the weekends but Mon. was an except. I'm now another year older haha!! My birthday wish was "Don't get old" which means spend time with yourself everyday, maybe 1-3 hrs, don't need to go out unless you want to and when you do, have fun like there is no tomorrow and make it seem like your last, until the next time work and school is over.
If you don't take the time out, you might stress out & explode.

I'm one session behind in one class and it takes one day to grow into a habit, quickly into a week. It's not easy to catch up when I have so much going on. I've been going to the workshops in school, learning to speedread has helped tremendously and also don't read every word in the textbook. The other class is a lot of reading not much writing assignments. I'll catch up soon hopefully this week! If you skipped one day, it's like skipping two chapters or 30 vocab plus one writing assignment. Happens very quickly and it's your time in the fast lane!

I don't add anything more. I don't volunteer yet. I'm being picky about the location, driving time, expectations, etc. I am in deep thought about starting an organization on campus, fact I was looking for leadership guidance, and info online. I don't come on much for this semester, because one class is at the Rockville campus.

I hope to be more on the Bmore campus next semester/year.

Lainey,

I agree with you 100%. This was/is my first semester back in school in almost a year, and I had already buried myself in my school work making me disgruntled, exhausted, and lacking any bit of a social life. There's enough assigned school work to keep anyone overoccupied and sometimes you have to step back from it all and take a breather. It'll make you a better person all together.

Lainey,

Happy belated birthday. Sounds like you had a great time. You seem to be very passionate about your lifes goals. I say go for it and do what you can. It would be great to start your own organization!

Rain,

This school year might only be the social time we get on campus (Liz said in her first entry) plus the blog. This is also my first semester. I had a hard time figuring out the schedule. It feels booked lol! But I have thrown in some things to have fun but as soon as the 2-3 hrs go by, I go straight back to studying right away. On FB, I told everyone don't bother me for 6 days/wk b/c I'm studying. I'm breaking rules!

We have to be well-disciplined but that's hard with so many things to do outside of it, FB, Myspace, Twitter, addicting shows, we seem to fall into the addictive personality category and get sucked into something like a fixture but our life definitely isn't boring. Your days are filled with classes, imagine when you have a job, the time takes up 1/3 of your life.

You can have as much time now before you are working. I don't like to work and school is more fun! LoL. More variety of things to do, learn and grow!

LJ,

I did thank you! I looked at a website on how to start a local chapter, the problem is finding an appropriate time to start it. My first idea was an anxiety support group but I had a hunch it wasn't going to attract much students except ppl around the Metro area. I had some ppl losing interest quickly. Second idea is maybe start a Toastmaster but there is one off W. Preston St. It has start up fees per person ($28) and another fee for clerical. I'd like one on campus. I'm going to find out from another school, interview the organizers, and see if it can be done for free. We have too many things to buy right now.

Okay I see a common theme....first semester !!! Me too but only I haven't been in school in TWELVE years. Only taking one class this semester and yes finding time to read is hard even with this one class. I work full time and have a two-year old so you can imagine that. He wants to write when mommy is making notes and how do I stop my baby from learning ! i try to read when he goes to bed but then I'm tired. I try to read at work but I work for the State of Maryland and even though I'm furloughed, my work isn't !! I know I need to get a grip cause I'm stepping up the number of classes next semester...TWO classes...WOW !!! Good luck ya'll.
