Let me start off by saying that I've never read any work by T.S. Eliot nor did I even know he existed until I read that there was going to be a performance of his dark masterpiece "The Waste Land." Ignorance is not always bliss, so I decided to leave the cyber world of internet only classes, and venture out to campus to learn a few things. And I did just that. No, I didn't learn what T.S. Eliot's poem was about because frankly it was more confusing than learning another language, but, the actors were filled with so much passion for their work that I couldn't help but thoroughly enjoy the performance. And, although I didn't partake, there was wine served at intermission! How cool is that?! In summary, this is what I took from that evening, 1) a nice walk on a cool fall night onto a campus I was able to learn more about 2) being in the company of others who seemed to enjoy a poetic performance as much as I did 3) watching the passion and dedication necessary for the actors to learn & recite this masterpiece 4) a wine intermission, and 5) branching out and embracing something new. Life is filled with new experiences, people, and ideas. You just have to be willing to try them. ;o)
Until next time,
Rain

Araina,
It sounds like you had a great time! You are right life is filled with new experiences and without these experiences we would never be able to branch out or know what it feels like to embrace something new. Great example and great Blog!
Thanks, Liz! I was a little hesitant about going to an event like this by myself but I never knew I was alone. There were so many people around me that I never felt alone or lonely. I didn't have anyone else there to distract me in any way and I really did enjoy myself. I'm definitely going to do that again. I'm looking forward to Poe night!
Sorry, LJ! I saw the L and automatically thought you were Liz. Sorry again!
