Day Before Jitters

The countdown has begun!! Block Party is on Thursday, and now it's just getting the last little bits & pieces, and making sure that everyone knows what they're doing. Today, the city will deliver the booths...and I'll be out there on the plaza guiding them to their proper places around 9 a.m. Then we'll have to call to set up ice delivery on Thursday morning and make sure that the entertainment, the beer, and the crabs will be delivered on time. On Thursday, the city will shut down the street and we'll really begin to race around. On top of the Block Party madness, I have 3 papers due ON Block Party day. Jeez...bad timing.

Even though it's pretty insane right this minute, I'm still excited. Once Block Party is in full swing, the tension, jitters, and panicking will ebb away. And then, at 4:00 we'll unveil the MASCOT! So far it seems that people are pretty excited about the mascot! University Relations set out honey jars to get the word out about the bee, and they're all gone! All of em! But, the only draw back to that is that no one submitted their picture (like the label says to do). Oh well, people still took the honey jars and someone out there knows about the bee :) I guess that's all that matters.

For my parting words, I took my friend's status from facebook:

"S.S believes that somewhere between the presentations, essay, block party, and new york city, Courtney Lyn Smith , herself, and fellow members of the SGA may be found laying on the ground, probably somewhere between maryland avenue and charles street.. so if and when we are missing please come find us laying there. thank you"

Too true!
