......... (Yep that's the title !!!)

Geez, it's 9:54PM on Sunday. You ever just wonder where the time went? It seems like Sunday is upon me so fast and here I am every Sunday thinking about something to write.

I don't know last semester I wrote about the stars being aligned because everything was pretty much going good for me at that time. And here I hit that same feeling again. I think the most excitement (or not) going on right now is the change in my medicine....wow so exciting right !!

Well let's think back on the week and see if we can pull something out for you.
**Monday....hmmm...don't remember what happened.
**Tuesday....hmmmm.... don't remember what happened.
**Wednesday....hmmmm... oh I did go to a seminar. The seminar was held in the Langsdale Library . It was about getting your foot in the door with the Federal Government. The first presenter was good. He really cleared up some misconceptions for me about the Federal government. But the lady presenter (sorry I don't have names for you but they worked with DISA). Well the lady lost control by allowing questions in the middle of her presentation. First of all, she was about an hour late so why on earth would you allow questions while you're going through your presentation. But anyway. Walked away with no new information from her.
**Thursday....hmmmm....nothing good. No CMAT 211 class so got to go home.
**Friday...awwww.....such beautiful weather and I registered for a workshop with ARC (Academic Resource Center). 6-8PM in the computer lab trying to get a better feel for Illustrator Pen Tool. It worked out well cause there were only two of us signed up. After about 30 minutes, Meredith (the instructor) just came and sat at the computer between the two of us. Talk about one-on-one attention. I'm ready to finish my assignment due this Thursday for CMAT 211....an 8-pg magazine layout. I did leave there and go to a fish fry at the home of a former co-worker of my husband. Didn't get home til 2:30 in the morning. I must think I'm grown. See what happens when you get an all-night babysitter (AKA Grandma) !!!!
**Saturday....hmmmm....geez...that was yesterday and I don't remember doing much of anything. Wow....guess I had too much fun Friday night !!
**Sunday.....Resurrection Sunday. Now I do remember going to church and getting a quick but good word and communion. I guess of anything I do, that's about the only thing that matters.

Let me go back to two of these days, Wednesday and Friday....I got something for you !! Lateness is truly a pet peeve of mine. I'm a stickler for being on time. My mom always taught me to be on time for everything. I guess that's how I got so many years of perfect attendance when I was in school. But on Wednesday, I tell you I have never seen so many people pour into an event LATE. Let me say that again L-A-T-E....late...late...late. The presentation was to held 3-5PM and people were coming in at 3:30...4...I just stopped paying attention after that. If I can't make time for the full event or activity, I don't bother to go.

I didn't know what to expect from the workshop, but just maybe it were a chance to introduce yourself and get noticed. If it were, a lot of people would have been overlooked. Not only did they come late, they ended up asking a million questions that were covered in the 40 minutes they weren't there. Yes people came 40 minutes late. That, to me, is disrespect. You wouldn't show up to your job 40 minutes late so why show up late somewhere that might help you get a job.

Having second thoughts on my comments about Friday. Like I said it was only two of us and if they read these blogs, they'd be no mistaken that I was talking about the other attendee to the workshop. But here's a hint : LATE !!!!!

Well folks, I pulled a little something out for you ! Now, I'm off to check up on my peeps on Facebook. So...

Until next MONDAY, stay blessed.

Confession: I hate being late, and therefore am generally WAAAAYYYY too early to everything...

But I feel the same thing about people being late to workshops, lectures, and class! I attended the Intellectual Property Symposium two fridays ago in the business center, and people were still walking in 30 minutes into the first speaker's presentation. And of course then they have to make everyone else move so they can sit. And they show up with a plate of food in their hands! I was always taught, if you are late then slip in quietly and unobtrusively.

And if you are 45 minutes late for an hour lecture, just don't come.

I'm going to keep it short and sweet this time. Say what's on your mine....you always do. Very good points about being late and then got the nerve to ask questions. UGH...that irritates me too. If you late, find a corner and be quiet. Don't make yourself known cause you were already noticed for coming late....Until next time, stay positive and keep up the good work!!!
