i spent this weekend out and about, enjoying the weather (and david sedaris at the meyerhoff!) with friends and strangers. sat, i met up with friends (the strangers were on sunday in dc) for brunch at sofi's crepes. delicious!
i'd never been to sofi's before, but now im tempted to go all the time. they have three locations, two in baltimore and one in annapolis, with varying hours. there was a little confusion over the hours; we didn't realize the location we chose opened at 1130, not 11. BUT this location is conveniently just two blocks from UB. C and i both arrived a little early so we walked down to the academic center to wander the halls. it was kinda fun pointing out how UB has the best spot in the city. it's close to just about everything i would care about (mostly starbucks). by the time we got back, E and the boys had arrived, and we only had five more minutes to wait.
i didn't realize how small sofi's would be. i assumed it extended back, but didn't factor in the space consumed by the charles and everyman theatre. they do have a few tables outside, which would've been perfect had it not been windy. so the seven of us crammed into the narrow space trying to read the menu, order and sit without getting in everyone's way. that was fun. i ended up ordering two crepes: the bananarama (banana, granola, peanut butter & honey) and the homemade butterscotch. i made the mistake of eating the bananarama first so my butterscotch was an even bigger mess when i bit into it. the crepes were amazing though. totally worth the sticky fingers and butterscotch drips on my favorite jeans. our only complaints were 1) hard to eat a folded, wrapped crepe (they remind me of chik-fil-a wraps) and 2) not enough napkins. otherwise, it was fabulous
so if you find yourself craving something sweet or savory, walk over to sofi's for a quick crepe. just remember to get LOTS of napkins :)

My family loves that place! My daughter loves bananarama (thanks for telling me the name). We also frequent Tapas Teatro right down from it. De-lic-ious!
